For every pathway, distinguish module attributes from whole-system performance. DC/AC ratio, inverter MPPT windows, transformer arrangement, interconnection rules, and curtailment can materially affect a project’s outcome even though they are not module specifications. Field output can also depart from standard-test-condition values because of irradiation, cell temperature, shading, mismatch, and cleaning practice.
Different module technologies may be attractive under different temperature, supply, and project-finance assumptions. TOPCon and heterojunction discussions, for example, are not settled by a generic winner: the comparison needs stated climate, bifacial, degradation, availability, and cost assumptions.
